(a) State and describe, using the constituency perspective, the four IS solutions traditionally implemented within businesses. (10 Marks)
(b) Critically discuss how flatness of an organisation’s structure impacts i) transfer of information and ii) formation of information siloes. (15 Marks)

(a) State and describe the four business activity areas supported by traditional functional Information Systems solutions. (8 Marks)
(b) Describe, providing two examples, what is meant by ‘Enterprise Application’. For each example describe the function and use of this application within a business. (8 Marks)
(c) Business knowledge can be i) structured, ii) semi-structured, or iii) unstructured in nature. For each category, giving relevant business examples, describe how Information Systems capture and apply knowledge for use in a business. (9 Marks)

(a) Describe, with consideration of the business impact, four project management objectives that should be considered when implementing Information Systems. (8 Marks)
(b) There are four stages to decision-making, i.e. Intelligence, Design, Choice and Implementation. For each stage, i) explain the output of that stage, and ii) describe an Information Systems solution that might be used to support this stage of decision making. (8 Marks)
(c) Describe, considering an advantage or disadvantage for each, three alternative software development approaches that could be used to produce software solutions. (9 Marks)

(a) IS change can be categorised using four levels of severity. Describe, using an example for each, these four levels. (12 Marks)
(b) Discuss in context of a business example the positive and negative issues linked to the use of three different categories of customer relationship management solution. (13 Marks)

(ii) describe, using examples, when OLAP should, and should not, be used. (9 Marks)

(b) Describe two internet-based technologies that support information sharing across a supply chain. (8 Marks)
(c) Describe, with consideration to at least two technologies, how disruptive IS trends are changing business activities. (10 marks)

(a) Discuss, by expanding the value chain model, how Information Systems solutions support value creation in businesses. (10 Marks)
(b) Expand, in detail, three IS implementation failure factors, providing discussion concerning the implications of each factor, and how each factor might be avoided. (15 Marks)
